Montgomery Man’s Blind Hug Video Goes Viral

“Free Hug” videos have been popular on Facebook and YouTube in recent years, but recently a Montgomery man recreated those videos with a new twist.

David Sadler stood outside of a Montgomery Biscuits baseball game blindfolded with a sign advertising free hugs.  The video on Facebook has already gotten over two million views.

He says that at first he was worried how it would turn out.

“I was anxious and afraid almost of not getting any hugs,” he shared.

After the first hug, it was like a snowball effect.

“It seemed like I was only waiting for maybe five minutes,” he explained, “after five minutes, the first hug started, and from there it was just a snowball effect.”

Chosen Smitherman, of Grow 334, captured the  moment and produced the viral video.  He says the experience was life changing.

“I seen a girl walk out from out of the stadium back out to hug him, I seen kids freeze in conviction and just go ‘we’ve gotta do this man, God is love,’ and they just went over there and hugged him.”
