MPD Make Arrest in Highland Ave. Fatal Stabbing

The Montgomery Police Department has made an arrest in Tuesday, August 2, stabbing death of 75-year-old Thomas Shaw Jr. of Wetumpka.

MPD detectives charged, Corwin Walker, 21, of Montgomery with one count of capital murder. Walker was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he was being held under no bond.

MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 2500 block of Highland Avenue at about 10:20 a.m. after receiving a report of a subject down. There, they located Shaw, who had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

MPD’s initial investigation indicates the stabbing stemmed from a robbery attempt.
