ASU’s Berry adds another preseason honor

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (bamastatesports.com)  – The start of the college football season is two weeks away and another preseason honor has been bestowed on Alabama State’s Kourtney Berry.

Herosports.com has released its 2016 Preseason FCS All America Team and Berry has been named First Team All-America as one of four linebackers named to the team.

A three-time All-SWAC pick and two-time All-American, the reigning SWAC Defensive Player of the Year has started every game he has played in at Alabama State since his freshman season of 2013.  Along the way the Indiana native has 363 total tackles and his 130 stops last year were among the best in the nation.

Berry has had at least 100 total tackles in each of his first three seasons and will be looking for a four-peat when ASU begins the season Sept. 3 at Texas-San Antonio.
