Victoryland is Officially Back Open for Business

victoryland112.jpgIt’s a big day in Macon County.  The VictoryLand casino reopened Tuesday afternoon after the state government shut it’s doors over three years ago.

The casino has 502 electronic bingo machines on the floor right now. They officially opened at 2 o’clock.

The owner Milton McGregor says today is a very rewarding day after working for years to get Victoryland reopened. He says he’s not worried about another raid or being shut down because he’s in full compliance with the law. He also shared his thoughts on the process of getting to this day.

“It’s been difficult. However, were there, thank God were there and we’re looking forward to putting people back to work. We’ve got people going back to work for the first time in a long time, supporting their families,” McGregor said.

Workers put the final touches on the casino and say that the first customers have been in line since 2 o’clock Tuesday morning.
