Southside Selma’s De’Quan Johnson named Capital Hyundai’s Impact Player of the Week
SELMA, Ala. (AlabamaNews.Net) — Southside-Selma football is seeing a big time resurgence in 2016, and much of that can be attributed to the Panthers’ “Venus-Fly” trap wide receiver De’Quan Johnson, named Capital Hyundai’s “Impact Player of the Week”.
Johnson, the senior wide receiver/running back for the Panthers, racked up 315 yards and 6 touchdowns Friday night in Southside’s win over B.B. Comer.
Southside-Selma Head Football Coach Daniel Flowers says Johnson will catch any ball within his range and is also the team’s “prime-time” kick returner.
The latest win elevated the Panthers to a 5-1 record as Southside-Selma hosts Montgomery Academy Friday night.
