Tennessee’s Jalen Hurd expected to play vs. No. 1 Alabama

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee coach Butch Jones says he expects Jalen Hurd to play Saturday against No. 1 Alabama after the junior running back missed a 45-38 overtime loss at Texas A&M last week with an unspecified injury.

Jones said Wednesday at the Southeastern Conference coaches’ teleconference that Hurd is “back full strength.” Hurd was at Tuesday afternoon’s practice and was wearing a green non-contact jersey.

Hurd leads the ninth-ranked Volunteers with 407 yards rushing on 107 carries.

Jones also said Wednesday that guard/center Dylan Wiesman is “doubtful… to heavy questionable,” linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr. is a game-time decision and linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin is out.

Kirkland has missed four games with a high ankle sprain. Reeves-Maybin has missed the entirety of two games and the majority of two others with a shoulder injury.
