Auburn heads to Tuscaloosa for Crimson Classic

AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – The Auburn cross country team will travel to Tuscaloosa for the Crimson Classic tomorrow, the last meet before the SEC Championships on Oct. 28. The men will compete in the 8K race, which is set to begin at 9 a.m. CT. The women will take part in the 6k race scheduled to start at 9:45 a.m. CT.

Both the men and women’s teams will compete against a field of 32 other schools, including SEC opponents Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee. Mississippi State and Vanderbilt will compete in the men’s race, while South Carolina will compete in the women’s race. Florida State and Georgia Tech will represent the ACC.

The Tigers will be competing for the first time since the Louisville Classic on Oct. 1, where the men’s squad finished 16th in the 8k and the women finished 8th in the 5k.

Senior Veronica Eder finished fourth at the Louisville Classic for her fourth-straight top-five finish of the season, posting a personal best 16:53.50 in the women’s 5k.
