Auburn women’s hoops picked seventh in SEC media poll

AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – The Auburn women’s basketball team was picked to finish seventh in the Southeastern Conference in 2016-17 by a panel of SEC and national media, the league office announced Tuesday.

At 8-8 in SEC play a year ago, the Tigers tied for seventh place, along with Tennessee and Missouri, after being picked to finish 13th in preseason voting. Auburn returns four starters from that team that finished 20-13 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

South Carolina was picked to win its fourth consecutive SEC regular-season title with Mississippi State tabbed as runner-up. Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida and Texas A&M took the third through sixth spots.

Auburn will play 13 home games in 2016-17, beginning with the season-opener vs. Troy on Nov. 11. Season tickets remain on sale with reserved seats beginning at $60 per ticket, and general admission tickets are $50 each. Once again in 2016-17, men’s basketball season ticket-holders can add a women’s basketball general admission season ticket for just $25 per seat. In addition, all season ticket-holders receive an exclusive t-shirt for each ticket purchased. Fans can visit AUBtix.com or call the Auburn ticket office at 855-282-2010 for more information.
