Tiger softball hosts Friday doubleheader

AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – Heading into its second weekend of the fall season, the Auburn softball team is set to host Wallace State CC-Hanceville for a doubleheader on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. with the second game set to begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opening contest.

Friday’s doubleheader will also feature the Beat Bama Food Drive. Attendees who bring a non-perishable food donation to Jane B. Moore Field will receive a $1 beverage voucher to the concession stand.

The Tigers looked the part in their first four games of the fall slate last weekend in victories over Daytona State (twice), Mississippi Gulf Coast CC and Wallace State CC-Dothan. As a team, Auburn totaled 22 extra-base hits, including 10 home runs from seven different sources.

Tannon Snow paced the team with three roundtrippers, while Haley Fagan chimed in with two homers. Other players to leave the yard include KK Crocker, Justus Perry, Courtney Shea, Kendall Veach and Carlee Wallace.

In the circle, returners Kaylee Carlson and Makayla Martin were dominant. The duo combined for 14.0 innings and allowed just seven hits while striking out 22.

Following its two games on Friday, Auburn will wrap up its annual fall exhibition schedule on Saturday, Oct. 29 when it plays host to Northwest Florida State and Columbus State in a triangular, beginning at 12 p.m.

All fall games are free and open to the public.
