Lady Hornets wrap SWAC soccer regular season Thursday night

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (bamastatesports.com) –  The Alabama State women’s soccer team will play its final home match of the season to wrap up the 2016 regular season campaign at the ASU Soccer Complex when it hosts conference rival Alabama A&M on Thursday with a kick set for 6 p.m.

Alabama State (7-9-1 overall, 6-2-1 SWAC) will look to solidify the third seed in the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings with a victory.

Three seniors will be honored in a special pre-game tribute at 5:30 p.m.

Aaliyah Lewis, Kayla Edwards and Ally Murphy will play their final home match in a Lady Hornets’ uniform.

The Lady Hornets now lead the nation among Division I women’s soccer programs in goals scored with 49.

Aa. Lewis and Ariela Lewis have combined to score 23 of those goals on the season.

The Lady Bulldogs (3-14 overall, 2-6 SWAC) are led by Estelle Esperance (six goals, three assists).
