Tigers prep for last doubleheader of Fall
AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – The Auburn softball team is set to host its final day full of softball on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Jane B. Moore Field. The Tigers will put a bow on the fall season with contests against Northwest Florida State and Columbus State at 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
Saturday also marks Audiology Awareness at the Ballpark. Because October is National Audiology Awareness Month and National Protect Your Hearing Month, the Student Academy of Audiology chapter at Auburn University will sponsor activities to raise awareness about hearing protection, noise-induced hearing loss and the profession of audiology at the Jane B. Moore Field.
The Doctor of Audiology graduate students will provide information about signs and symptoms of hearing loss and hearing loss prevention. They will distribute foam ear plugs, while supplies last.
Friday’s doubleheader will also feature the Beat Bama Food Drive. Attendees who bring a non-perishable food donation will receive a $1 beverage voucher to the concession stand.
In last weekend’s pair of victories against Wallace State CC-Hanceville, the offense continued its tear. Haley Fagan and Tannon Snow combined to blast three home runs and five RBI, while Brittany Maresette and Casey McCrackin laced triples.
The pitching staff totaled 17 strikeouts, including a team-best eight from Kaylee Carlson. Makayla Martin also hurled a club-high 4.0 hitless stanzas while contributing a pair of send-downs.
All fall games are free of charge and open the public.
The Tigers also will conclude their open practices on Friday night when they host their last training session open to the public from 4-7 p.m.
