Carlson, Johnson, Kozan CoSIDA Academic All-District In Football

AUBURN, Ala. ( – Daniel Carlson, Kerryon Johnson and Alex Kozan of Auburn football have been selected as 2016 CoSIDA academic all-district honorees, the first step toward receiving Academic All-America recognition.

Carlson, a junior placekicker from Colorado Springs, Colo., graduated in August with a 3.66 grade-point average in finance. He is now in his first semester of graduate work in the Harbert College of Business.

Johnson, a sophomore running back from Madison, Ala., holds a 3.44 grade-point average in exercise science in the College of Education.

Kozan, a senior offensive guard from Castle Rock, Colo., is enrolled in graduate studies in the Harbert College of Business, working toward both an MBA and a master’s of finance degree. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance in May, 2015, with an undergraduate GPA of 3.34.

These three will now appear on the CoSIDA Academic All-America national ballot. Winners of that prestigious distinction will be announced December 1.

District 4 honorees were selected from all Division I players at colleges in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Florida. Nominees must carry at least a 3.30 overall GPA and be in their second year at their academic institution.
