Troy University Has Voter Registration Mishap
Troy University’s Student Government Association conducted two voter registration drives in recent months. About 150 forms for registration or absentee ballot applications were collected and mailed to local election officials. Unfortunately, about 30 voter registration forms from the Oct. 6 registration drive were not mailed due to an oversight in the SGA office. These forms were located Tuesday morning.
Election officials at state, county and local levels were consulted, and the affected students were notified.
The 30 voter registration forms have been mailed to appropriate Boards of Registrar, and the students affected were advised to file provisional ballots.
The president of the Troy University Student Government Association, Olivia Melton, has offered apologies on behalf of the SGA.
