MPD Make Arrest in Fatal Woodley Road Shooting

The Montgomery Police Department has arrested a suspect in the Sunday, Nov. 13, shooting death of a Montgomery teenager. The shooting occurred in the 3000 block of Woodley Road.

MPD detectives charged Desman DeAngelo Webster, 31, of Montgomery with one count of capital murder in connection with the death. Detectives placed Webster in the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond.

MPD was responding to the reported recovery of a stolen vehicle Sunday night in the 2300 block of East South Boulevard when the body of the shooting victim, a juvenile male, was found in the vicinity of the recovered vehicle.

MPD’s investigation indicates the shooting victim was a suspect in the theft of the vehicle when he sustained a fatal gunshot wound. MPD’s further investigation identified Webster, the vehicle’s owner, as a suspect in the shooting. Because the victim of the shooting was a juvenile suspect in a felony, MPD is not publicly identifying him.

No additional information is available for release relative to this ongoing investigation.
