State Bureau of Investigation Looking for Answers in Crenshaw County Officer-Involved Shooting

On Wednesday, May 27, at the request of Crenshaw County Sheriff Terry Mears, Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) are investigating an officer‐involved shooting. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30PM, Wednesday, May 27, and involved the Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Office and Luverne Police Department.

One person is deceased, and officers from both agencies received minor injuries, as did responding medical personnel, as a result of the incident. They were transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing.
