COVID in Alabama Schools: Weekly Case Numbers Drop by More Than Half Once Again

COVID-19 School Dashboard for February 17, 2022 – From Alabama Department of Public Health

The latest weekly Alabama Department of Public Health report on COVID in the state’s public schools shows cases once again dropping by more than half statewide.

The report for February 17 shows 1,972 cases, compared to 4,700 cases the week before and 9,800 cases the week before that. By comparison, there were 26,260 cases in the January 20 report.

Cases had bottomed out late last year, when 414 cases were reported on December 2.

The state’s weekly reports don’t specify if the cases involve students, teachers or other staff members.

Montgomery: 76 (Feb. 10: 192)
Autauga County: 57 (Feb. 10: 95)
Elmore County: 44 (Feb. 10: 62)
Pike Road: 8 (Feb. 10: 20)
Dallas County: 8 (Feb. 10: 16)
Selma: 11 (Feb.10: 17)
