Growers Beware: Freeze Watch this Weekend

Lows will be in the 30s, and Sunday morning should be the coldest with a freeze anticipated with lower 30s. For this reason, a Freeze Watch has been issued for much of Alabama and this will be upgraded to a Freeze Warning over the next 24 hours. Growers beware, this should bring an end to the growing season.

Umbrella Alert: Rain and Some Storms Today

A cold front will move into Alabama later today and will bring rain and a few rumbles of thunder back to Alabama at times. Severe storms are not expected with the main dynamic support passing well to the north and the main window for rain will come from 10AM-8PM.

Another Very Mild Day, but Rain and Storms Return Tomorrow

Not as cold this morning, but still there us a chill in the air. As we roll into the afternoon, the dry air in place will warm up nicely again with most locations in the mid to upper 70s, under a sky with a mix of sun and clouds. Clouds will be on the increase, especially as we head into tonight.

Cloudy with Areas of Light Rain Today

Clouds are covering much of Alabama today due to a low pressure to our southwest and an upper-level above us. These are also allowing for areas of light rain across state today. Rain amounts will be very light, generally under one tenth of an inch, and some places won’t get enough rain to measure.
