ASU Tennis: ITA announces 2021 Division I Women Academic Awards

TEMPE, Ariz. | The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2021 Division I Women ITA Scholar-Athletes and All-Academic Teams this week, with Alabama State well represented with eight individuals and a team award.Alabama State was one of three teams from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) to earn the All-Academic Team distinction, while the Hornets also had eight student-athletes earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

ASU Football: SWAC Media Days to be held Tuesday in Birmingham and aired on ESPN3

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) will host its annual SWAC Football Media on Tuesday, July 20 at 10:00 am CST at the Sheraton-Birmingham. The event will be streamed live on ESPN3 with college football commentators Tiffany Greene and Jay Walker teaming up to host the event.

ASU Volleyball: Penny Lucas-White Elected to Board of Directors as Coach Representative

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. | Alabama State University head volleyball coach Penny Lucas-White has been elected as the coach representative on the USA Volleyball Board of Directors. CLEVELAND, Ohio | Alabama State running Ezra Gray added another academic honor this week as he was one of 54 individuals named to the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Director Association (FCS ADA) 23rd annual Academic All-Star Team.The honor was the second in as many days for Gray as he was named CoSIDA Academic All-District for the second consecutive year.
