Surtees died Friday morning after a battle with cancer.

Tom Surtees, who served under two governors as Revenue Commissioner and Labor Commissioner has died.  The Alabama Department of Labor says Surtees died after a long battle with cancer.  He was 66. Arrest Made in Fairground Road Shooting

The Montgomery Police Department has made an arrest in the Wednesday, Oct. 5, shooting death of 41-year- old Tyler Sasser of Montgomery. MPD detectives charged Rodrick Senderson Jr., 22, of Montgomery with one count of murder. Senderson was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he was being held under a $300,000 bond. Cause of Death for Giraffe at Montgomery Zoo Identified

An autopsy shows that a giraffe which died at the Montgomery Zoo had a knotted rope inside its intestines.
