Prattville Independence Day Celebrations

In Prattville, the 4th of July is looked forward to by residents every year and even more this year after the city’s events were cancelled in 2020.

Prattville residents are excited to celebrate Independence Day again, some getting back with friends and family for the first time since the pandemic. Some say this holiday is giving them a sense of normalcy.

On June 19, around 5:00pm, two females entered the store, located in the 1900 block of Cobbs Ford Road. They then left the store without paying for the lotions, sprays, and candles they concealed. Surveillance cameras showed they left the parking lot in a Black Camaro with an Auburn University license plate.

Prattville Community Celebrates Resident’s 100th Birthday

Prattville Native, Ruth Hunt, is turning 100 years old, and Sunday her loved ones honored her with a parade. Family, friends, and staff at the Harbor at Hickory Hill organized a parade of people from the community to wish her “Happy Birthday”. Huey Magoo’s Announces Two of Four Locations Coming to the River Region

According to a public relations representative with Huey Magoo’s, the Florida-based Chicken Tenders chain is opening locations in the River Region.

The representative announced two of the four locations. The two locations are: Festival Plaza, 8001 Vaughn Road, Montgomery and between Outback and Panera on Cobbs Ford Road, Prattville. 

Alabama Poppy Project Honoring Fallen Soldiers

  A local potter in Prattville has created a Memorial Day exhibit featuring handmade clay poppy flowers. Julianne and Steven Hansen started the Alabama Poppy Project last year. The first poppy was placed in honor of Steven’s son, an Air Force pilot, who passed away suddenly in 2017. This year, they made over 2,000 clay flowers that will stay on…
